Biography Aldo Luongo was born to Italian parents and raised in Argentina. Although in his youth he experimented with piano as well as painting, his real love was for playing soccer. So much so that after he finished schooling at the Academy of Fine Art in Buenos Aires, he played professional soccer for the New York Cosmos. Aldo Luongo later went on to work for a reputable jewelry company as a designer.
It wasn't long thereafter that he returned to painting. Painting is Luongo's true passion and he has been known to have said, Painting and Soccer are like walking to me, so natural.
Once reviewed as a Post-Impressionist by the New York Times, Luongo admits that at first he feat as if he where be categorized and this bothered him. He then realized that many the painters he most admired were Impressionists he also understood the genuineness of the praise. Every artist adapts the best qualities of his favorite artists, but I m always conscious of capturing bits of life, of reality, of situations, of people. It s my space in time. |
