One of the most recognized clown artists in the world, California native Chuck Oberstein has been developed his style over a period of more than forty years.  Not willing to simply emulate other artists (with the possible exception of Rembrandt, his favorite), Chuck developed an illusional style all his own.  It was this delightful method that earned him the respect of art critics everywhere and they often commented as to his "magic touch".

Born in East Los Angeles December 18th, 1938, Chuck Oberstein's paintings are cherished all over the world in various formats. Beginning in Europe in his early twenties, Chuck quickly worked his way to an extremely successful one-man-show in the art gallery at Disneyland.   Occasionally, he was even referred to as the "Magician".

Chuck Oberstein  works have been duplicated on millions of posters, greeting cards, statues, and collector plates. While there are thousands of reproductions (and many times copies are extremely difficult to identify), his original oils are considered to be one of the best investments in contemporary art today.

Oberstein's works have been featured in many one-man shows in the US and overseas. Oberstein's extremely detailed, abundantly colored paintings, prints, lithographs and limited edition plates are sought after by collectors around the globe.  A great deal of Chuck Oberstein's subjects are real life, award-winning performers, who have been featured in international circuses, major parades, network television, and at the White House.

Chuck Oberstein has left his stamp on the world and will surely be remembered for as long as people enjoy clowns.
